JOHN YOUNG FURNITURE LTD - AUCKLAND, NTL

I bought a John Young Henley lounge suite pure leather from Harvey Norman about 18 months ago,I was told that it was black and that is what we wanted,but on arrival it looked to me anything but black.Just last week a spring just fell out of the 3 seater, Central trim was asked to repair it,they removed the foam which housed the springs and replaced it with foam,now I have one seat which has no springs on the seat and the others do have,When asked the man who repaired it he said that it was not possible to put the springs back since it would come out again.I am very disappointed with the product.Previous to this we had a Morgan suite and had it for 7 years and no problem at all.

Bought an Elliott Lounge Suite from a local store, when delivered it was found that a recliner chair was defective and did not work. Phoned the store who said they would send someone to rectify the problem, eventually chair was taken away for repair, after a week asked what was happening with chair and could we have a replacement new chair. The store said there was none in stock. Spoke to a lady at John Young Furniture in Auckland who was very brisk and lacking in customer service manners who said they decided if chair should be replaced. Having been without a chair for nearly three weeks felt it reasonable to request a new replacement, the defective chair could then be examined by their factory not repaired by local company. In my opinion Quality Control was lacking at their factory if goods were despatched that were defective, the fault compounded by the attitude displayed by members of their staff when dealing with a customer who had paid cash in advance for said goods.
